History

The club was founded in 1978 by a handful of avid photographers interested in sharing their photographic experiences and skills with others. Our mandate is to improve the member’s photographic skills by providing a forum to share ideas and experiences in photography. Our goal is to promote the art of photography and “become better acquainted with the art of photography.”

Members of the Regina Photo Club are mostly residents of Regina with members from surrounding urban and rural communities including Pilot Butte, Indian Head, Hazenmore, Kincaid, Willow Bunch, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon and even Lac La Biche and Medicine Hat Alberta.

Many of our members have volunteered their photographic skills to numerous community organizations since the club began. Some of these organizations include the Regina Humane Society, Canadian Paraplegic Association, Homes for Holidays (for the Kids Help Phone), MS Society of Canada, Santa Video forum (for the physically and mentally challenged), Senior Centers, Help-Portrait, Regina Public Libraries and Schools.
